Behind the Scenes: Victoria

Hello Victoria,

I'm one of eight YYJ filmmakers invited to participate in a new initiative by the Victoria Film Festival in collaboration with the Victoria Foundation to produce a short film series highlighting the effect arts and culture has on the local community. My segment is on how the arts affect our standard of living, and that's where I'm coming to you.

I need to compile at least 200 photos of the arts in Victoria for my film concept, and I'd like to represent as many and as diverse artists and arts as I can. So if you live in and around Victoria, BC and you sing, dance, design, rock, rap, photograph, paint, weave, garden, build, sculpt, skateboard, draw, act, grow bonsai, or otherwise get crafty, I want a picture of your art! I don't care if you're 5 or 95, amateur or professional. Feel free to send a handful of snaps if you're not sure which best represents your work.

If you are a composer of any kind, classical, folk, electronic, rock, experimental, etc., please consider sending me a song or short clip to include as part of the soundtrack.

If you'd like to contribute to this project, please send your hi-res photos (must be good enough quality to print) or music to hoggwildfilms@yahoo.com along with how you'd like your photo contribution credit no later than January 20th, 2012.

The film will premiere in the 2012 Victoria Film Festival, playing before the feature documentary The Ailing Queen at the Capitol 6 on February 4th at 7:15pm, and then will be hosted on-line with the complete sereis of docs. Be seen!
